Hevron Bldg. Documents Forged by Whom?

The battle over Beit HaShalom, the building between Hevron and Kiryat Arba purchased by Jews several months ago, is one being waged in the court system.

The next court date is later this week when the issue of whether or not the documents presented by the Jewish owners were genuine or forged as the government claims will be on the agenda.

Dr. Mordechai Vardi, supervising expert for determining forgeries for the court, has pointed out (a) that the so-called forgery refers only to the notary on accompanying documents and not the document of sale itself and (b) that the police tests run were not up to accepted professional standards. He went on to state that this type of chicanery is often found in cases where the seller wants to retract the sale.

In keeping with this theory, it now appears likely that the handwriting sample given to the police lab to use to verify the documents was itself created to make the original document seem to be a forgery.
