The last time I visited the Hurva synagogue I was sure that I was visiting the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem.
However, if one believes the rehtoric emanating from the Arab world, one would think that the Hurva synagogue has been rebuilt in a total Arab area with no Jewish presence. They have used the restoration of this historic synagogue to refocus the world on their "rights" to East Jerusalem.
Once again we are faced with outright lies and propoganda spewed by the leaders of the PA and the Arab world, in order to fuel the flames of anti-israel sentiment in the world.
The history of the Hurva synagogue goes back centuries and the Arab world has no shame in rewriting history and making it seem as if the Jews have no claim to the Old City of Jerusalem or to Jerusalem at all.
This is just a reminder that the armed struggle is really one aspect of the overall struggle the Arab world and the PA are waging against Israel. The other effective struggle against us is the war of lies and propoganda that is being waged against Israel to undermine its legitimacy in the eyes of the world. Thank G-d the State of Israel and the IDF have proven time and again that we can deal with the armed struggle against us, but we have yet to prove that we can overcome the lies and propoganda that they publish day in and day out, reported around the world as fact.
