THURSDAY'S D-DAY!! HERE'S WHY: The Merkaz-Likud (Likud Central Committee) is extremely influential over the voting behavior of both ministers and Knesset members, so it can easily determine the fate of Judea and Samaria, Golan and Jerusalem. Merkaz Likud has many rightwing members - but also many Kadima-leftwing members who were miraculously installed in Merkaz-Likud 8 years ago when Sharon's son Omri Sharon was powerful.
On Thursday the Merkaz-Likud members are voting on a proposal to DELAY the voting-in of new members (which was supposed to happen next month) for TWO YEARS. It is believed that this move is viewed with favor by the Obama Administration because it will allow crucial government and Knesset votes to swing to the left, because of the influential Kadima-leftwing members who are NOW in Merkaz-Likud. In contrast, if the Thursday proposal fails, NEW members will be voted into Merkaz Likud NEXT MONTH, and these new members are expected to be far more right-wing and Zionist than the present Kadima-origin members are. This will push Knesset and Government votes to the right, which is what we want.
We must defeat the dangerous Thursday proposal!! So, VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to drive Merkaz-Likud members who are willing to vote AGAINST the above proposal, on Thursday (from 10 AM to 10 PM -- mostly in the evening). Also needed are volunteers to telephone from home from now till Thursday, to "get out the vote". These volunteers will get a phone list of rightwing Merkaz-Likud members and will simply remind them to please go vote!!
