Jerusalem's Rabbi Shalom Gold, formerly of New York, wrote a petition with a strongly worded message to Rabbis all over the world, asking that Rabbis and other people of influence in the Diaspora call on President Barak Hussein Obama to cease his pressure on Israel concerning Judea and Samaria.
Chief Rabbi of Israel Amar heads the list of the most respected Rabbis in Israel who signed Rabbi Gold's petition at the 'Ariel' conference held in Kfar Giladi. The letter points out the absurdity in contending that there be areas in Israel, of all countries in the world, which must be "judenrein".
The letter and petition were a result of Rabbi Amar's response to Rabbi Gold's speech about the issue after one of the Shabbat meals at the conference. The wording of the letter was that of the Chief Rabbi himself. It has not been published yet in respect of Rabbi Amar's request that publication be held off until Rabbis and Jewish leaders in North America receive the letter and petition.
